Goodbye U Jelly. Hello Project Poke! (U Jelly, you will be missed) Yes siree! Project Poke is the newest craze in town and it's definitely worth a try. I came out for their media preview event to sample their menu and was not disappointed.
Given that they are still fairly new and word is getting out that there is a new poke joint in town, chances are, service will be slow, lines will be long, and will probably run out of supply. If you're one of those cranky souls that gets mad at the world because you stayed in line too long, then you should come back on another day when they're more settled down. Fair enough?
They serve sushi burritos (sushirritos!) and poke bowls. I ordered a premium sushi burrito and a small poke bowl. It's visually beautiful to look at once everything is put together. Fish, veggies, your choices of many sauces, and toppings... It's colorful, tasteful, simple and fresh. That a lot describing a sushi burrito. MmMMm... Poke bowl is just as good, but with half the rice. I had half rice and half greens in my bowl. Added with everything! From fresh fruit, seaweed, to toasted garlic chips. So many textures in one bowl, and I love texture when I'm eating. They also serve two variation of musubis- spam and crispy spam.
Like I stated earlier, this is a pretty new joint. Lines will be long and supplies will run out. Even when I attended the preview event, a few things were already sold out. If you came on a busy day, and you experienced a few hiccups, then you should really give this place a second try. I feel the business suffers sometime because of the wait and set expectations.
Russell approves. ^_^
